Announcing the Merger of Blue Valley Eastside and Blue Valley Southwest Lacrosse Clubs
We are thrilled to announce that Blue Valley Eastside Lacrosse Club is merging with Blue Valley Southwest to form the Blue Valley Timberwolves Lacrosse Club. This merger represents a significant step forward in our commitment to providing the best possible experience for our athletes.
ONE DISTRICT, ONE CLUB
Lacrosse is a growing sport in the KC Metro area, and growing sports have challenges when it comes to club and player growth. While we all have a goal of the sport popularizing where high schools can all support their own teams, we’re far from that goal.
Over the years, both Blue Valley Eastside and Southwest Timberwolves have faced challenges in maintaining proper and safe team sizes for our players. By uniting our clubs, we wish to create an environment of player success from the player just beginning to the Senior looking for recruitment opportunities:

-
Volunteer coaches & high school players for youth mentorship, protecting against private school recruitment
-
Consolidated fundraising and expenses, reducing club costs and allowing more budget for scholarships and reducing the barrier of entry into the sport
-
Playtime opportunities for players of all skill levels, whether an athlete is new, casually want to play in the spring or a year round single sport player, allowing everyone to play, grow & appreciate the sport of lacrosse
-
Foster a future of growth, creating a club plan to support spin off or single school teams during growth years without splintering our district with politics that only hurts the sport within Blue Valley
-
Most importantly, give all BV Players the coaching, structure and resources they need to succeed no matter their high school
Let’s be clear: the intent of this merger isn’t to create a ‘super team’ where only stars play, or to introduce another competitive travel club to the metro area. Just as Eastside went to Arkansas and BVSW played in some pre-season tournaments, we intend to create fun and exciting opportunities for athletes, but our focus for the last three months has been unifying our school district and being allowed to play our neighboring clubs.
Like any other high school sport, we as parents and our sons want to win games, but we also want long term success. We believe this merger is in the best interest of the youth of Blue Valley, creating a long term play that sets these young men up for success both on and off the field. We’re not worried about a championship: we’re looking at the young men in our care and those coming up from the youth’s divisions and creating a legacy of success for years to come.
We are excited about the future of Blue Valley Lacrosse and look forward to seeing our athletes excel as Timberwolves.
Thank you for your continued support!
